Always be safe when burning candles.
Take all precautionary measures to get the most
enjoyment out of your chubbys by
keeping all of the below in mind.
Our "Lil'chubs" are accented with a homespun wrap and rusty tin. These make for a charming display only candle. However they are also safe to burn, therefore..dont forget to take that homespun wrap off!
Keep your chub away from drafts, wick clippings and anything flamable.
Prevent a smoking candle and a mushrooming wick by TRIMMING THAT WICK! The wick should be trimmed before each light, always keep your wick short, recommended 1/4 inch.
TIP:If a wick becomes too short to light, carve away enough wax to expose the fresh wick, then trim 1/4 inch off the top of the candle and burn the candle to reform it's appearance.
I recommend using a candle pan with all of our grubbys. Our lil'chubs for the first part will burn down the middle but as the melt pool grows..about half way down they may tend to drip over..so a candle pan can catch this access wax.
TIP:Get use out of your hardended wax dripping by placing that dripped wax in your tart burners for more enjoyment and then you get no waste!
It is recommended to burn candles 1 hour for each inch of it's diameter. This allows the flame time to melt the wax to the outer edge. Burning less time will cause the candle to core burn down the middle & shorten burn time. Our chubs have a 2 1/2-3 inch diameter so should be burned for 2-3 hours at a time to get the maximum burn time for that grubby.
TIP:Candles (generally tapers or pillars) refrigerated before using will burn more slowly and evenly. Wrap in foil or plastic before refrigeration to prevent wicks from absorbing moisture.
Keep ANY burning chub out of reach of your pets, children or somewhere that it can get knocked off.
And finally..
NEVER leave your burning chub unattended!!
*ENJOY THEM*
